Bill grew up and graduated High School in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He served twenty-four years in the US Army as an air traffic controller and airspace manager. Bill completed every level of professional military education culminating in the completion of the US Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 50. He retired in the rank of Sergeant Major. While on active duty in the Army, Bill attended and graduated Troy University, studying business management and human resource management.
Bill is currently the Vice President for Government Services with Navigator International. He assumed this position with the company in 2016 with 6 employees. Today, Navigator International has grown to more than 300 employees with annual revenue exceeding $30 million. Bill is an active member of County Line Baptist Church of Enterprise, where he has served as a deacon.
Active in community and public service roles, Bill has served as the chairman of the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs committee for the last twelve years; he served as the Disabled American Veterans certified veteran’s service officer for the last 18 years,
Chapter 9 Commander, Department of Alabama Commander, and Chief of Staff to the National Commander. Bill is a life member of Enterprise Post 6683, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Army Aviation Association of America (Order of Saint Michael awardee). Bill has been a volunteer disc jockey for many community activities.
Bill is married to the former Nell Welch of Hartford, Alabama.
Bill Baker has been part of the Enterprise community for over 20 years, working beside our citizens to make Enterprise a better place to live.
· As Mayor I will be inclusive of all residents and businesses in Enterprise
· As Mayor I will grow and support all business opportunities for Enterprise, the City of Progress
· As Mayor I will form a strategic planning committee made up of all pertinent organizations in order to continue to be the City of Progress
· As Mayor I will work with the School system to ensure we continue to have strong schools.
· As Mayor I will support our Emergency Services to ensure Enterprise is a leader in the area for emergency management, fire, and police efforts

He is committed to working with the Chamber of Commerce and local civic groups to make Enterprise the number one choice for retirees of not only the military but those migrating from other areas of the country. Join our team to grow the City of Progress in new directions.
